Environmental policy works best when the communities affected by it are part of shaping it. PAEP works to connect professional expertise with the communities on the ground.

Why community mobilization matters

Many of Pakistan's most serious environmental risks — flooding, groundwater depletion, heatwaves, air pollution — fall hardest on communities with the least capacity to absorb the shock: low-income urban neighborhoods, smallholder farmers, and remote mountain communities. Technical solutions designed without community input often fail in practice. Mobilizing communities means building local awareness, gathering local knowledge, and making sure affected residents have a voice in decisions that affect their environment.
